This brand began with a shared feeling: that dancewear hasn’t kept pace with the dancers themselves. For a long time, we have learned how to make things work. We pull outfits together from pieces not made for us - borrowed from other worlds.
Studio apparel remained largely unchanged. We wanted to question that.
So we went back to the beginning. To the discipline, the obsession, the memory of falling in love with the dance world for the first time. A wardrobe that carries nostalgia while pushing forward.
These pieces are made to move, but also to stay with you beyond rehearsal. They’re considered, functional, and familiar.
This isn’t about reinventing dancewear, it’s about honoring it.

FOUNDERS
We started FormationWear because we were tired of wearing our pyjama shirts and activewear shorts to dance class.
I'm Tamara, and I started this brand with my sisters Stella and Karina, and my fiancé Jamie. My sisters & I grew up dancing. It was just part of how we moved through the world. And somewhere between early morning rehearsals and late-night classes, we started noticing something that nobody was really talking about: dancers didn't have clothes made for them that could be worn beyond the studio.
What you wore to the studio was whatever you grabbed on the way out the door. An oversized tee that had seen better days. Something that lived at the bottom of your wardrobe.
The idea was simple: clothing that blurs the line between street and studio. Pieces that feel intentional. Made by dancers, for dancers - because we knew exactly what was missing, because we'd been missing it too.
That's Formation. It's for the dancer who wants a little more.
